There are many types of utilities (sprite editors, graphic makers, rpgmakers) out there that can make the job of programming games easier. But is there a downside to all of this? If you use utilities too much, you'll start to forget the code, at least I think. Vote utilities in or out. then post why and your favorite utility. _________________ Adosorken: I always liked slutty 10th graders...

I really should have posted this in the other one, but i think that utilities can help you do things faster than just code. But don't use it too much, or else you might forget how to do certain stuff.
Fav utility: Either pixit or pixel plus 256. both are good for designing tiles and characters. _________________ Adosorken: I always liked slutty 10th graders...

The sign of the good programmer is that he writes little or no unnecessary code. That said, I'm planning on writing my own tools for my current project. The tools "out there" simply aren't powerful enough for what I want to do.
Favorite utility: Tile Studio. I made extensive use of this for Feyna's Quest, and it was a great timesaver.
