forgive me for asking such a stupid question in this dire time, but it's one that i've been wondering about. this is for bjorn. Do you think you could put the ratings of the games right on the game select screen, right beside the game name? i know it's stupid to ask in this kind of crisis, as there may be no game screen to put it on later, but as i said before, i'm just curious to the point where it kills me. It'd make it less tedious looking for good games. it may improve the amount of visitors as well. _________________ Adosorken: I always liked slutty 10th graders...

On a similar note, I want some indication of how close a game is to being finished on the game select screen. Right now it's somewhat frustrating to search through the list of games for something that's actually finished.

About showing rating on category page
Deciding whether it will be good is more difficult than you might think, and it's not a stupid question. Sure I agree it will make it less tedious looking for something nice because the nice games will no doubt get one or more high-rated reviews. But would you still look at the other games, without any reviews or which have been rating badly by one person?
Also, rating works well when large amounts of people put down their rating, but this is still a small community and few reviews are being written. Many games are not being reviewed at all.
This does not say at all that I wouldn't like visitors to be able to find some nice games more easily. It could also help getting reviews for games not reviewed yet, when people can see instantly which games are not reviewed yet.
Featured game
Showing a random screenshot has always been on our todo list, but will be something which we'll only implement when screenshots are hosted by RPGDX and not links to other sites. But now I was thinking about something else, a featured game. It could show a screenshot, and one or two sentenses saying something about the game, and last for a week after which another game gets to be on the front page. Only finished games of reasonable quality coud be put up there, great for the regular visitor who doesn't want to be trying out all games but would just like to try one out once in a while. Of course, this stuff will be handled by moderators.
Edit:
Showing game status
I think now we're coming to the point at which I want to stress that showing too much information tends to get rather crowded. In my opinion adding search functionality will be a much better way to handle these requests. This is still on the todo list.

I look at all games, whether good or bad. I like to look at ideas, and evaluate them. often badly rated games are my inspiration.

One thing i like about your search function is that you get to choose pre chosen things. (most recently added, alphabetical order) but there are too little amount of choices! Add more! (Highest to lowest rating, Most

Almost on this topic, just listing off "why not" features, I do have a request.
The individuals in the forum are "rated" based on number of posts (I think; correct me if I'm wrong). So, since quantity matters, I think the fact that I'm so very, very long-winded should be worth something. How about adding a "verbage per post" rating, or something? I rather dislike being "Lowly Slime".
Similarly, because I'm so long-winded, if it's at all possible, it would be nice to have "tabulation tag" for posts. I really wish HTML had one of these (though perhaps it does; I'm not extremely fluent). Anyway, indenting paragraphs with " " every time is becoming annoying.
None of these are exceptionally necessary; just, they would be nice, provided they are very easily implemented (don't go to any unnecessary trouble). Thanks for the time.

heh heh. Very true, Barok; I could be much worse off. Perhaps we could have a charity affair, where we give our posts to those poor unfortunates who have extremely embarassing labels? Now, I wouldn't be willing to donate (I haven't many posts to my name, myself), but I could certainly organize.
