Well, just noticed that a new rpg development site has been launched.
It's called http://www.rpg-dev.net and it's features are like RPGDX's. Check it out!

Nice that we now have 2 (or maybe more?) rpg development sites to visit since RPGDX seems to "survive" :)

hmmm... gonna have to check out the competition. maybe bjorn and they could work out a deal with them and maybe work together.

looks like mr mandrake is paying to advertise the competition :D

it looks fairly new, id say the owner would be a little bumed out that rpgdx didin't go down :D

Alright... this is what I did not want it to turn into (one of the main reasons I didn't "advertise" RPG-Dev.net here either... I figured somebody would mention competition).

I would like to officially say that I'm not trying to compete with this site. This site is great! I love it, I would hate to see it disappear. I'm really glad that the hosting problems were resolved.

I started RPG-Dev.net because I've always wanted to do something like it. qbrpgs.com was sort of my "attempt gone wrong" at it a while back. It really could never have gotten as much traffic as I would have liked mainly because it focuses on QBRPGs. RPG-Dev.net is my second attempt at it, and I already think it'll do ok.

So, I'll say it again, I'm not trying to compete with RPGDX. Heck, I even put up a link to this page, and if Mandrake or Bjørn wanted, I'd put them as affiliates to.

I think it's great that there now is yet another rpg-development-site. Why compete ? For example, there are many Qbasic related sites that exist and there is no competition between them. In fact, I belive that it's a great strenght for a "community" to have many sites.
Anyhow, rpgdx still exist and I bet "it" will survive this too...

For me, as a user, it's great to have many sites to visit and explore. Thumbs up for ALL rpg-development sites!

if you ask me, rpgdx and rpgdev would be more sister sites than rivals.

siste sites? well, i'd hope so...but rpgdev's menu looks awfully familiar....although i'd have to say, the forums are a bit too much for me :(, i perfer my forums to have one or tow boards....other thean that, i guess it looks nice.

yep. i think there are too many message boards. but the sites off to a good start. seriously. i think the two sites are so close to the same thing that they'd be sisters. i mean, two sites are better than one, right?

Heh... glad we're all ok with it then. Also, Yeah, the nav bar looks somewhat similar to RPGDX's nav bar... I didn't really intend for that to happen, but well... meh ;)

Ok, I believe you Fling-master when you say you don't mean to provide any competition. Also, I have no problems with an extra site focused on the same public, be it a sister or a competitor, especially not when the community doesn't have any problems with it.

As Mandrake said, the site looks awfully familiar to RPGDX (it could have been just another template on the same base code), but it's a pretty standard structure for many sites like this like MadMonkey and Allegro.CC, so there's nothing wrong with that either.

So good luck with further development of the site then. :-)

Heh thanks. Actually I think we're off to a good start... I first opened it to the public on Friday... today there's 29 registered members and most are submitting their stuff. :)
