I am like so freakin proud of myself right now. Here's why
Use WASD keys to move, esc to exit, mouse to look. y axis is inverted airplane-style 'cause I like it that way. Damn, OpenGL kicks ass!

The key input and loading the PCX file, everything else is GL. (though if I could do that in Allegro I'd be pretty damn good, heh)

Nice. I did a similar fractal landscape renderer once too, it's good to play around with OpenGL a bit.

I couldn't move though, somehow keyboard input is not working when running Allegro Windows executables with Wine. The mouse worked, if a bit dodgy.

Dude, how can you not have a card that supports GL? It was introduced a decade ago. What the hell are you coding on? A Tandy?

I think the problem might be that I didn't do the manual poll_keyboard() thing, so it might not work on certain platforms.

Why aren't you using GL for everything? GLUT has a keyboard/mouse interface, and PCX file specs are not terribly difficult to find.

maybe i am coding on a tandy (/me hides his TRS-80). Well I don't have any 3d card right now, so no matter when the specs where introduced, I won't have it. I would buy one now cuase tere cheap....but the choice of 3d card or buying my daughter a squeakie toy....well. You know.

ok, well, the squeakie toy is actually for me.

I think there are GL wrappers running around. Or were they glide? Eitherway, if your card don't support Open GL i doubt it could emulate it deciently :P

Therefore, this post is useless.

I think I'm gonna actually do a 3-d game. Basically just a simple "fly over a planet surface and blow up swarms of aliens" kind of thing. It should be a fun distraction during my ARC Legacy un-productivity period :)
