Graphicly speaking the graphics are not "uber l33t" but they are a definate improvemet over the prior two games he has created, which shows promise for future games. The plot is nice and alot of fun, the gameplay is good and the level design is decent and well balanced. Won't win favorite game of the year or anything, but not a bad way to spend a few hours. It's a good game, and defintely worth playing. |

This game is set in MiddleEarth, the fantastic fantasy world created by J.R.R Tolkien. I havenīt seen any game that has managed to do justice to this world, many have tried, but none of them have managed to recreate the magic that is there. With that said, iīll go on with the review:
Basically, you walk around, talk to people, build up levels and explore, a normal rpg with other words. The gfx is ok. The tiles are nice but the are very basic and could have some more detail. The caracters also looks a little strange sometimes. The music sounds ok, your general midi-tunes.
The gameplay is quite basic but it does what is should and does it well. Pixel*pixel scrolling would have been better but as it is it doesnīt really matter. Battles are also very basic and so is the quests. One thing i liked is that you can chose what to answer when people talks to you, so you have to ask people many times to get the information you want. This is a cool feature that i wish more rpgīs had.
Overall, this game is ok, but nothing more and nothing less. |
