Just wanted to thank you guys for "beta-testing" Diver Down and giving it so many positive reviews. Diver Down is now tied in 2nd place among all RPGDX games, and it happened in such a short time. This is a great commuity here and I'm glad I found this site.
If you've been putting it off or otherwise haven't played it yet, what are you waiting for? _________________ Diver Down

My ol' Windows 98 computer kept crashing with it, and Chani's dad won't let me download games on his computer because he's paranoid of viruses and stuff, so I won't be able to play all the way through it until I get my own compy. Which will be very soon, probably after my first paycheck :) _________________ Mark Hall

I've played it and liked it a helluva alot. Doesn't work on my new WinXP compie tho, prolly a bug in VERGE. YOu deserve all of the praise you get- it's a lot of fun.
Xmark- I wonder what S&H for a computer from the states to Canada would cost? I have a spare one- nothing great mind you (p200mhz, SB sound card, SVGA basic gfx card (ie: no 3d))...but if the S&H is over like, 10$ I couldn't afford to send it to you. _________________ "Well, last time I flicked on a lighter, I'm pretty sure I didn't create a black hole."-

Nah, I'm looking for a computer that can handle audio processing and stuff, and now that I got a job I can afford to buy one. Now I'm just searching around for a good local place to get a cheap custom-built system (no over-priced Future shop systems for me, thank you) _________________ Mark Hall

The newest Windows version (a la 2 months ago) crashes in XP? It really shouldn't, and no one's mentioned that to me before. Does it even start up or give you an error?
If you're not sure of the exact version you have and wanted to, I would try redownloading the file, just to be safe. If that didn't work I'm not sure I would know what else to do, without more specifics.
The Windows version needs the .NET runtime, but XP comes with that. And I know the DOS version won't even start up on XP. _________________ Diver Down

Jeezus... I just realized that half of the top 10 rated games there are mine. You people have bad taste in RPGs ;p
Anyway, not trying to threadjack... heh... carry on. :) _________________ "Goth is a way for ugly people to be interesting."

Yeah, congratulations on this title grenideer! I am even able to play this one quite smoothly in xdosemu with music and all. I am sorry to say thay I haven't gotten quite far yet though... with fire in the storage, a guard blocking my way in the dungeon and nothing to do down below, I didn't know what to do anymore. I still hope to fix that sometime.
Hmm, I hope I haven't just made myself sound like an adventuring noob... :-)
So not thinking about resuming your carreer just yet, DarkDread? :-)

Heh, you are just at the beginning, huh?
Talk to the prisoners for some info. When the guard at the top leaves, you can sneak down to the private level. There's a breaker taht you can switch on, and that will start up a series of events leading you back towards the fire, where you started. _________________ Diver Down

Diver Down is a great game. I really appreciate that you went for a good storyline and good writing. So few developers do that, and I think it's one of the things holding back the scene.
Yay for you! _________________ http://www.jonas-kyratzes.net

Heh, no... if I did a game now, it would only be to make a little bit of cash on the side... and I could just imagine the backlash for that... "how dare you charge for this game... all your other games were free!"
...I'll stick to music as a hobby, heh. _________________ "Goth is a way for ugly people to be interesting."

yeah, people have a tendency to react like that....heh, as they did about me expecting money for the Changeling.
Fuck the backlash, i say. I mean, what are you afraid of? Some whiners decrying your name? So what? they can piss and whine all they want. Let 'em I say. _________________ "Well, last time I flicked on a lighter, I'm pretty sure I didn't create a black hole."-

The proper response being, "How dare you take my hard work for granted, asshat!" Please note that your derogatory terminology of choice may be inserted in place of asshat, which seemed unusually effective when I typed that.
Yes.

I think that asshat is a very suitable word for 'em. _________________

grenideer, I for one would just like to say congatulations. Diver Down is the single greatest indie RPG I've ever played. Well done!
