Should we have a monthly RPGDX magazine? If so, would you want/be able to help on it (if you want to help, respond to this post).

I think it would be a great idea... the only problem, would be keeping intrest up in contributions. Most online mags, have a run of 3 or 4 issues, then dissapear. I say, before even thinking about starting one, come up with ideas to prevent this 'apathy cutoff' rule. _________________ "Goth is a way for ugly people to be interesting."

What would go into it? Surely all the content is already here on RPGDX.

Just keep it off the current site and make the layout easy and I'm fine with it _________________ Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

I agree with Golrien, that anything in it probably is already present on RPGDX. And if it isn't, then it's missing on RPGDX and should be added to it emmediately! ;-)
But I don't know much about Mags. What would be in the mag, of be specific to the Mag, as related to RPGDX?

Well, Im imagining the mag like a bit of a "spotlight" on any articles or other stuff made during the month, maybe even some themed issues. The mag could also be sent out via e-mail. _________________ If there's life after death there is no death, if there's no death we never live. | ENTP

yeah, that's the basic idea. That and it could motivate people a bit more to write articles. And we can also focus in on some things, give news that might not have been posted on the news page, gaming gossip. Imagine it more like a supplement to RPGDX and indierpg.net in general.... _________________ "Well, last time I flicked on a lighter, I'm pretty sure I didn't create a black hole."-

I think it's a neat idea...
In response to Bjorn's remark, (I don't know how difficult this would be, so it's just a thought, but) what if articles from past issues were saved in a database, which could be accessed by users at RPGDX? That way, all information compiled by the mag would also augment that found at RPGDX.
Like I said, I don't know if that's simple or difficult or too time/space consuming---or, if you were already planning to do so. Just a thought.
And, Mandrake, like I told you yesterday, I'm still interested in helping out, although my contributions will be primarily editorial.
I'll never get away from the computer again...
:)

actually my original idea (and is still my main idea) was to program a DB of the articles (written out), with some PHP code i wrote interfacing that with the mag, so it would be easy to put out issues by just creating a publish issue form. Then the prev issues would be easier to archive as well.
