i post something in a thread, but don't view it, because it was my post. it still is marked "new" for me even tho the "new" part was my post. can this be changed so that if you post to a forum, and that your post is the newest in the topic that you posted, that the topic not be "new" to you. do other people have this issue, or is it just me?

just a guess.. i can't recall if my board has this quirk.

guess ill check it and see, if it requires some extra code to be written, im sure many sites would benefit from it if its just the way phpBB works.

You could just wait the 3 seconds to be redirected to your post. Consider it proof reading.

I think it's good if you read your post at least once after you post it, if you don't want to wait 3 seconds you can click the link.

Still, I will consider your request. Hint: If more people agree on this there will be a higher chance of me sitting down and implementing this. :-)

No, I do that all the time. The thing that gets me is you people complaining about 3 seconds. 3 FUCKING SECONDS. THINK OF ALL THE THINGS I COULD BE DOING IN THOSE THREE SECONDS. OH MY GOODNESS IT'S SO SLOW, BOO HOO.

It's probably not the way phpBB works, as the new post indication of this board is by me, except the part for the guests.

One problem I would have with marking the thread read after you post, is that anyone that has been posting WHILE you were writing your message (which just happens once in a while), is going to be marked as read too, and you're never going to know about them.

What I should probably do is have it redirect to the thread instead of, for 3 seconds, confirming everything went ok and giving you the option to go back to the forum instead. But I'm fine with the current situation, so you'll have to click the link back to the thread if you're in a hurry for now.

My world has collapsed as to why there is such a stupid thread as this.

The important question is: WHAT IS JEFF LOOKING AT?

My guess would be his computer screen, since the picture looks like it was taken with a webcam.

Or some dirty underpants. Anyway, why complain about three seconds? I mean, the board has other speed issues that is more important to take care of.
