Well, somebody had to suggest it...
Despite the underwhelming participation in this contest so far, I think a one day extension is a good idea. I don't know about everyone else - but for me, at least, it's the difference between a ten minute walkabout demo and a full game.
So, does that sound ok to everyone? :)
By the way, to those people who are taking part, how's it coming along? (I'm still doing graphics, but I'm about ready to start scripting.) _________________ http://www.distractionware.com

Well, you're in good hands with this competition, as the extension is a given, I'll state that now. :-)
We have the same problem, today we will surely not go beyond walkaround but maybe with tomorrow it'll be a bit of a game, who knows. I'm mainly programming atm while yesterday I did some graphics. I'm also getting help from a friend and a family member with the graphics. So far we have to show:
An animated wurm: http://www.lindeijer.nl/~frode/worm.gif
Some tiles from our tileset: http://tiled.rpgdx.net/screenshots.html (latest screenshot)
Good luck on your entry! Good to know at least somebody else is also trying to finish an entry. I wonder how far DeveloperX+team and Mandrake are with their entry now.

Team DevX is rolling along fine. We're hard at work at graphics, the maps, the virtual machine, and we've almost completed the main engine. Hopefully we can wrap everything else up today! :D

Those graphics are looking quite good :) Hope you get your game finished...
I still can't believe that only four people entered. _________________ http://www.distractionware.com

Thanks. :-)
Indeed, this time a lot of people seem depressed, busy, burned out, uninterested, etc.
The extension, however, is official!

Whew... finished the DreamVM. Now it's up to DeveloperX to tie it in with the rest of the engine. *keeps his fingers crossed*

HAHAHAHAHAHAhahAHAH *ahem* DreamVM had too many bugs..you were missing alot of prototypes.
Anyway:
The map editor is completed, and works great...
most of the art has been drawn...
the engine, in it's 15th form, compiles...links....and yet, it does not run. _at all._ I don't get it. :\
I'm tired, I've tried to figure it out for hours.
I don't think that this game engine, much less the game will be completed in time for this competition.
Gustav has school, DarkBllade has work, GregG has work, Scorpio9 has school, and LordGalbalan has to jobhunt..so that leaves me...
And I simply don't know what to do next.
I'm at a stalemate. If anyone who is fluent in Allegro would like to help me complete my engine..I'm all ears.
Oh well..perhaps next competition I'll HAVE an engine to actually make my entry with.
Mandrake: this is your fault ;) fo not having that dragon warrior tutorial done :P j/k
I cannot blame anyone but myself. _________________ Principal Software Architect

This artwork is not to be used except for project Dream Destroyer.
Wish the engine was done............... :\

Nice tiles, good luck with the 16th iteration of the engine then so we can see them in game soon enough ;) _________________ If there's life after death there is no death, if there's no death we never live. | ENTP

Hmm. Well, I am going to release what we have tonight. I’m not sure how far it’s going to get. I have conversations (not many- well….two), items, stats, walk around schtuff and tonight I hope to implement enemies before midnight. My wife couldn’t sleep last night so she created the main walk-around sprite.
Anyway, even if I don’t get it done tonight I’m still going to release what I have, and then finish it by Halloween (as well as cleaning it up and adding some stuff to it). _________________ "Well, last time I flicked on a lighter, I'm pretty sure I didn't create a black hole."-

Good :) I'm was geting quite scared that I'll be the only submitted entry (as that dream destroyer project seems to have hit a block...)
Anyway, just posting to say that I've posted a few screenies on my website. _________________ http://www.distractionware.com
