If you have the Java Runtime JRE included just doubleclick on the .jar file could have gotten the extension wrong but it should be something like that. _________________ If there's life after death there is no death, if there's no death we never live. | ENTP

DrunkenCoder is right. You should be able to simply double click on the .jar file to load the editor. If you don't have the extension configured, you can right click and Open with..., then browse to the java executable.
-OR-
If you have the JDK (maybe even the JRE) installed, simply click on the link to the right on the main page that says "Start Now!"
If both of these fail, let us know. Also, there is an 0.4.2 version that you can get that has some fixes and enhancements, just so you have the latest release.

I used to start Tiled from the command line:
java -jar <filename.jar>
Replace <filename.jar> with the actual filename of your Tiled version.
