Feedback is welcome :)

Edit: The last version didn't spawn a single feedback message. I'm kind of wondering. Too many updates, too little changes in between? Too off-topic? Too boring? Too buggy? Just nothing-to-say-about-it?

I mean, the project lives on feedback. If I don't know what's wrong with it, I can't improve it :(

Edit 2: I don't bite :) I also promise not to start a flamewar if negative feedback is posted. I wouldn't be happy but then at least I know what's wrong.

I might as well give a reason for not giving feedback at the moment. It's mostly because my time currently goes to other things than checking out people's projects, and also because I already checked out 0.3.10.

Thanks for the message Björn. You've explained your points of view already and I understand them. I understand that you don't want to comment each version.

But there are a lot more regular members. Some threads create a dozen messages a day. But mine seem to be uninteresting. E.g. the 0.3.12 got only 44 views over a week, and no response. (Probaly 20 of the views are from myself, checking if there really is no response).

Some other threads get 40 views per day and lots of responses. Do I need to use more catchy topic titles? Or did I scare away all potential visitors with my former messages?

Should I ask for an official review? Is this too dangerous in the current state of the project? (E.g. immature project = bad review results)?

I can't really comment on why your project would be uninteresting, but because each new post usually generates a lot of views, one can't really compare the number of views your thread gets with threads that do get responses.

You could apply for an official review, but we'll need to appoint official reviewers first. :-)

I downloaded and tried the latest version, I don't have much time, but I thought I would at least try. The first thing I found was that I had no mouse cursor. That was hard to work with. Also, in battles and even moving, it's very fast. Sometimes things would happen to quickly to react. Other than that, it seems very interesting.

I love debug printouts! (and pants)

No mouse cursor? What OS and mouse (driver?) do you have?

I've made tests on Windows XP and SuSE Linux 7.0, both had a mouse cursor inside the game window.

Currently the keyboard interface still seems superior if you need to do things precisely, e.g. entering moves while in a battle. You can press '#' to turn to a gridded display, that might help to move more preciselsy, too.

Movement being too fast: I need to work on that. Currently there is a fixed 50ms delay per square + a computer dependand amount. If your machine is faster than mine, you move at 50+10ms per sqaure, while I'm probably moving at 50+30ms per square. I'll try to measure the variable time and adjust the fixed delay to get a constant delay on all systems (except the very slow ones).

What's with the pants? You could try a skirt, but I agree the choice of legwear is somewhat limited currently :)

Thank you for the reports. I'm a bit clueless about the missing mouse, I couldn't reproduce the problem, and I don't know what to do to fix it. I'll take care of the timing issue.
