Strange, but very welcome...
Do FrozenEmu or Tsugamo have any part in this? _________________ http://www.distractionware.com

Yes, but currently they are both extremely busy, so just like before... don't expect them to be frequent visitors.

While I think that is, mostly, a baseless claim, keep in mind that RPGDX is very young in comparison to the old girl; GDR has been around, in various guises, for years. Plus, GDR had a slightly broader scope than RPGDX does: instead of being about one indie game development niche, it was, pretty much, about all of them. Actually, given the connations of the term, "refuge", it was not even about game development; rather, it was a place to get away from GD, to talk about GD. _________________ "...LeoDraco is a pompus git..." -- Mandrake

That is actually a good point. When you consider the genres represented there, there appear to be about 10 representatives for each.(?) That would be roughly equivalent to the ten regular posters here.
So the ratio holds.

Speaking of the evolution of the community itself, it (essentially) started out as the board and chat room over at Tsugumo's Lair, which then mutated into TheCow. The GDR became the bastard offspring of TheCow, splitting off and creating a brand new community with a purpose beyond all of us just getting together and proclaiming how much we loved pants.
Then the GDR was retired and allowed to mutate once again. But we're back, and things feel pretty good. Although many of us started within the confines of developing RPGs, for the most part we've embraced a wide variety of genres.
So, you can imagine we picked up quite a few people along the way.
