Really, the culturally rich language of "Bitch" has really grabbed hold of my interests.

Stop your flaming. Please.

I think people flame because there's no good content to react to. Right now at RPGDX, the only two threads are a flame war that's gotten out of hand and a thread where people keep posting more nested quotes to see what happens. We need more threads with interesting RPG-related content if we want the signal-to-flame ratio to rise.

To wit: Ninkazu, what project(s) are you working on?

I like pants!

Skirts are pretty cool too, but you can't quote me on that.

Well hey, don't look at me: I started no less than two threads on game design recently. ;)

I think it's just a matter of priorities. Nobody has any project they can show off at the moment, and the whole LG issue has been rapidly taking up more and more importance on the boards. Seeing as he's pretty much through now, it's only normal that such a thread would get so much attention. The other thread, however, does hint at boredom.

September/Octobre are bad dev months: people have just started going back to school and whatnot and developement opportunities are less frequent. It'll rectify itself as everyone gets into the swing of things again and adapts to these changes.

I have plenty of stuff I could show off but I'm a little wary of the flamers myself.

Then hey, make a stand and post your stuff. AFAIK, you're not someone with a declining reputation who slings holier-than-thou statements at everyone and acts like he's better than everybody despite having nothing to show for it.

Sure, at worse, you might meet with negative criticism, but flames? Only if you can't deal with aforementionned negative criticism. I met with that when I said I wouldn't make ES open source, but it didn't degenerate into a flame war and it didn't stop me from posting.

Just accept the negative criticism and see what you can do about it, and nobody will have a reason to flame you.

See my problem is that I can't think of a thread to start that isn't about graphics and I understand that the graphics section on RPGDX is not exactly the most popular... And Runelancer is correct, I have not done much recently because I am now back at school.

Besides I think that if LG is finished then flaming will become less of a problem. After all he was the cause of most flame wars really.. Maybe we should all just ignore him. Then he won't post any longer!

Anyway as long as criticism is constructive then we shouldn't be afraid of it.

I've never flamed *anyone's* project.

I'd like to see it. :)

Maybe true but but you did call us imbeciles...

Anyhow, I would love to see some nice discussions in the programming forum and I would really like for RPGDX to come back to life, but between school and work I don't really have any time to come up with intresting stuff myself :([/url]

After you guys relentlessly berated me over your terror that *gasp* I might be successful and *terror* others might emulate me and bring programming back to the dark ages. (!!!)

Let us know when your haphazardly designed bullshit projects that nobody in their right mind would want to pay for make you rich and famous. Now, if you found a way to harness the power of your monumental ego to create funds, you'd have something. That'd be a ticket to success. Have you considered starting a cult (or perhaps a pyramid scheme?)

If you'll excuse me, I have to get back to working on real projects...

And here it all starts again! lol...
Flaming in a post that is complaining about flaming.. hmm...
And what is the root of the problem? A certain persons ego per chance?

I started that. Sorry. Anyway, at least we know now. Something that struck me earlier is that somone must have already tried this, because there's a fix that prevent's it from getting too big and crashing the board... now there's a worrying thought.

You should dump something in the music section too someday :). But that's a pretty good point, if more people were interested in art and music rather than code and engines you could dump sprites and music in regularly for evaluation. Although thinking about it pixelopolis does exactly that, so you could just start posting your sprites and tiles there.

Hm, yes I keep meaning to register on pixelopolis. I will do that soon.

As for music, I don't really know why I have never posted any of my music.... Probably because I never seem to finish a piece! I better finish one, post it, and see if it can at least start a little bit of discussion.
