To me, it seems like not much is going around at this folder so what about a sprite contest? Everybody grabs a copy of pp256 and the palette known be used by both me and DD (Frankly I think that most people that are using pp256 are using that palette), and then we makes a enemysprite each. Then even someone could code a rpgdx battle engine and use thoose sprites. Well, what you think? _________________

I think it'd be cool, however, i fear that this particular forum is too dormant for many people to get invovled. A bit like the music forum. Although, granted, the last music challenge was still fun despite only four people submitting material.

Ah I'd like to take part in this, though I think I'd need at least a week to be able to find enough time to do a sprite somewhere. I never heard about pp256 though and searching on Google didn't get me to some website about it. Can I just use my trusty GIMP? I could still keep myself to using a certain palette if required I guess, where would I find this?

Sounds great, but do we need the pp256 restriction? Ah whatever. Where can you get it?
I'm in for this one. I make graphics much faster than I can make music :) _________________ http://www.distractionware.com

I'm pretty sure pp256 is in the allbasiccode archives somewhere.... It's a QB program, right?

what about just having a palette and size restriction? if someone could provide the palette or an image that contains the palette, then we could all use that with our favorite pixel editor of choice. (I personally would be using promotion, which I happen to like)

Maybe, although I did only spend about 30 seconds looking.
I used to love pp256, but now I see that psp is sooo much better.
If we decide the size limit should be very small (like 16x16 or something) then I don't think there is any need for a set palette because, even if you have a 16 million colour palette, you'll only use a few colours right?

Gooseman: Whats psp?
Bjorn: Whats Gimp?
Box: What are you doing under that rock?
Gooseman, I think 16x16 is a bit small. I thought we should aim for something more like the late FF 2d style of enemies. _________________

Gimp - Open source art program that shows similarities to photoshop.

Well contrary to pp256, PSP and GIMP actually have their website under Google's "I'm feeling lucky". So yeah, let me help you with that rock. :-P
I agree 16x16 is very small. So is the contest started? When can we start submitting and are there any rules besides it has to be an enemy sprite? Personally I think palettes are dated, no need for that, unless you have some palette to share that has just the right colors for the job. :-)

Since 16x16 is small, then lets use something like 32x32 or 16x16 ;-) Those are kinda like the BASIC sizes for sprites in most BASIC rpgs...
Lets also only use a 256 color palette. You can download it for psp from: http://ccps.rpgdx.net/files/screen13.pal
also...are there any rules decided upon yet... if any what are they?
When are we gona "Officially" start the drawing thingy ?? _________________ Most people would succeed in small things if they were not troubled with such great ambitions.
