That purpose being done, I stuck around to see if anything worthwhile was going on. Since nothing is, I've moved on.

That said, there was, I think, a pretty significant change in quality of LG bashing. At the point I threw in the towel, it seemed clear beyond any doubt that further bashing would do no good (and I said as much). Now, people are simultaneously going gonzo over him taking over the forum and joining in every post he starts. He's gone from being a sideshow freak to being the main event, and he's done it by making debating him less interesting, rather than more. Shrug. For my part, I had no vested interest in the well-being of this forum (having joined just to get my flaming jollies), but it strikes me as weird that those intending to save this place refuse to take the most obvious one step to doing so (stop speaking to LG).

Also, since that time, everyone other than RL who ever posted anything on-topic has simply left to GDR. Hence my lack of interest here.

Seriously? Shouldn't a forum belong to the community who participate there, and not the moderator? Bjorn believes that there is another solution, but since he's been out voted, should that matter?

It also shouldn't matter that LG seems to have settled down in the past week or so. Threads like this are permanent proof of the fuckwittage that people around here are justifiably fed up with.

It was just a copy and paste from the complaints generator, not a real piece of writing, and in the context of another forum post running at the same time it was pretty clear that he meant as a joke. There was no real need to run the thing 3 times, but whatever. Personally i'm happy to let the thing lie for now, LG certainly seems a little maturer on the forums right now, and i'm sure things will stay that way as long as no-one (including you LG) starts talking about personality archetypes or anything like that.

I dunno, I think it was just an attempt to make light of the situation. LG doesn't apologise apparently, although i'm sure a few people think he should. He did say some fairly appauling things. But the situation doesn't really concern either of us, does it? And it's not as if he doesn't stimulate conversation that certain complainers are sometimes interested in. Just leave it be man.

I have not really read many of LGs posts but from the response to this thread I don't need to. You'll always get assholes that will spam, flame etc and banning them is one way to deal with it. I myself prefer to suspend an offending users account. It tends to make people who arent really interested fuck off and flame on some other forum or else realise that while they cannot post their usual flaming crap, other members tend to pay more attention to more useful/interesting topics.

I say dont ban him. Just get an admin to PM/mail him with a message telling him he has been banned for being a cock and he can come back after a week. That way he doesnt get any attention and the world is a better/safer place.

Eventually he will have to cop on.

I have to say I think LG has improved since this thread. Certainly his recent threads have been more interesting and, by no means, annoying. If he stays like this then all is good and happy. :)
