I'm a new user on this site (rpgdx), though I've visited this site before and have already posted two articles. Because of my "newbness", I don't really know much about rpgdx.

That said, it seems to be similar in nature to http://www.rpg-dev.net/. The problem with rpg-dev is that the person running it no longer has time to run the site and wants to pass it on to someone else. You can read about this on the front page of the site.

My point is that whoever runs rpgdx could "adopt" rpg-dev and merge the two sites into one. Maybe the rpgdx owner doesn't want to do this, and maybe the rpg-dev owner wants rpg-dev to continue on as a separate site. I don't know.

I just wanted to throw the idea out there.

I'm the one running RPGDX and since a while I've been aware that FlingMaster has been looking for somebody to take over rpg-dev.net. However, while I am not sure about his motivations, I might be in the same situation at the moment. I lack the time to work on either of these websites.

I might however be able to arrange a fast new server (and for sure a slow alternative) and am willing to take on the site's administration, which I expect to be about the same as RPGDX. I'll think about it and may contact FlingMaster about that later.

Otherwise, we could just advice everyone at rpg-dev to come to rpgdx instead.

There's nothing worthwhile on rpg-dev that isn't on rpgdx. Unless you want a bunch of shitty rpgmaker games and all that...

Well FlingMaster had agree'd to hand over the site to myself, most likely beacuse i was the only person who showed any actuall interest. We are slowly going through that process. So anyone who thinks they can do better should probably tell FlingMaster right away or miss your chance.

Sadly seconded.

Adam, you'd better turn that place around and make it focus more on getting newbs to want to learn new and better material than RPGMaker so we can see good stuff there. Otherwise, my army of pantless ninja iguanas will rock your world. :D

First of, I recommend that you change the looks of the homepage. RPG-Dev looks like something dogs produces and you put in black bags (if you do not, shame, shame on you! If you have a dog, that is. Otherwise nevermind.).

I plan on making a new game company website and I'm thinking of doing something cloudy and mystical yet I can't really get a full idea in my head. Anyone know some really good-looking sites I can look at for inspiration?

The following sites generally provide a good source of inspiration:

If you'd like, I can supply you with some fresh RPG design/development principle articles for the site. Fling-master and I aren't exactly on the best terms so it's not like I could submit them to him.
