It's come to my attention that some people do not experience inner speech.
http://the16types.info/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1785
Now I'm not attempting to revive the whole debate over personality types. I'm just wanting a sampling of who experiences it and who doesn't. Basically, I'd like to know how the people in this community think internally. So if you don't experience inner speech, please explain how you can manage to read, in particular!

That depends on what you mean by 'inner speech', as I've never really heard the term before.
I do think to myself quite a lot, in the form of mental speech, I suppose-- Often with a kind of paranoia that other people (or even objects, as silly as it may sound) can 'hear' what I'm thinking.
For example, if I'm listening to, say, a song that belongs to a genre of music I would normally be embarassed to listen to, there's always a kind of imagined presence there, mentally, either scoffing at the fact that I'm listening to whatever I am (again, I'm just using this as an example), or some similar action which makes me feel embarassed or uneasy. So, I have to mentally 'tell' it that I'm either 'just listening to the song for ___ reason', or that I don't care what 'it' thinks.
It's just become a casual thing, sort of in the background, I've always thought of it as just a common thing that everyone gets in some form.
Apart from that, I do often 'talk to myself' mentally, thinking about this or that, and my mind wanders quite a bit. Not sure if either of those descriptions are what you're looking for, but hey, why not.

I enjoy conversing with myself far more than conversing with the rest of the human scourge. Hey LG...what does your little know-it-all book of people say about that? :D _________________ If you play a Microsoft CD backwards you can hear demonic voices. Hey, weren't you the one being negative towards anti-humanism way back on TBN? :p

I never really thought about this. I often have an internal monlogue running in the background as I do menial tasks. I try to draw the line at 'talking to myself', always worries me that I will start to think of myself as two people. (I'm sure that couldn't be healthy.)

I am always thinking to myself. Furthermore, I talk to myself quite often... when I'm alone. I don't do it when other people are around because then they'll think I'm insane. I remember my dad used to talk to himself while driving. I thought he was nuts.
I don't know, talking to yourself is one of those things everyone does, but no one talks about it... like eating boogers.
Your thoughts?

The voices in my head often tell me to do things. :o
I just tune them out, except for Mordecai, my 8th personality. This lil' guy is full of awesome insightful ideas that help in my day to day interactions with the real world. Like, "Kill that bitch! o_O" or "They must all die..." Mordecai is smart, he knows how the world works. :D
But when that fails, I just imagine scenarios in my head and go with that. A lot of Endless Saga was built by kicking back on a lazy sunday afternoon or while walking back home from work and imagining how the game'll look once it's complete. Often accompanied with some Iron Maiden on my MP3 player. Great source of inspiration.
Something tells me Mordecai is responsible for these little "scenarios" though. He knows everything. EVERYTHING. :D _________________ Endless Saga

OK then, I'll take it that inner speech is common to everyone.
But wait, what about DevX? Does he experience it?

Yes LG, I like how you created this thread to again slam on the person you backstabbed. Wonderful. _________________ If you play a Microsoft CD backwards you can hear demonic voices. The scary part is that if you play it forwards it installs Windows. - wallace

Lay off LordGalbalan. He's probably one of the brightest, smartest, and most easy-going persons on this entire forum.
His behavior is upstanding and reflective of his good spirit. It takes a strong person to say, "You're on notice!" to people. I respect that.
The only people who cause drama are the people who make a big fuss over it. You don't have to be offended if he upsets you. You make yourself upset.

You have not read all of Galbalan's posts here, have you? I've seen nothing but utter stupidity and banal stubbornness from him.

Again, history does not support such a claim.

One of the primary reasons why people do not care for Galbalan is his utter disregard to helpful suggestions that would improve his life. Another primary reason why people do not care for Galbalan is grounded in his asinine Jihad against DevX.
We've suffered his presence around here for well over a year, and practically any post made by him is either incomprehensible or disparaging; most any thread started by him is either grandiose or ill-wrought. (And, in either case, those are inclusive-or's. Hurray for logic!) Seriously, Nyan, there is a valid case to be made against Galbalan's infamy, however one is wont to pen it. _________________ "...LeoDraco is a pompus git..." -- Mandrake

I'm sorry. I just see a lot of people picking on LG ever since I started posting here a few days ago, and, well, I just don't like to see people picking on other people. Maybe it's just LG's karma, but I still want to give him all the benefit of the doubt I can muster. For all you know, LG could just be having a hard time right now or something, and if he's trying to be good, then I don't think people should go nuts on him over a single comment.
But like you say, I don't know the whole story... So maybe LG is just that disagreeable. I am betting LG is a good guy once you get to know him better.
