Unfortunately, I have to drop out as well. This morning, my wife had a miscarraige, and tonight she's going to be admitted to the hospital for a morning D&C operation. She'll be out for at least a week, so in the meantime, I'll be doing the workload by myself, which means absolutely no free time for me.
Don't know what to say, sorry to hear about your wife nod.

Not so good.

On the personal side:

I've been somewhat slammed at work so I haven't had much time to work my game.

It never fails, just when I think I'm going to have some free time, we land more business. Oh, well... such is life and I really don't have anything to complain about.

On the development side:

I was planning to use GDI+ in C# (so people could play the game on Linux using Mono); however, the performance of the tile engine is terrible for even the most basic graphics operations. Therefore, I'm currently in the process of switching to Managed DirectX.

That's a shame :(

Hopefully the extra week and a bit will help you get back on track.

After some set backs my engine is beginning to come together. I scrapped the GDI+ engine I was working on and have been focusing on 2D in 3D (DirectX). Currently scrolling and zooming work, as well as, windowed and full screen modes. I should be at a walk around state soon.

I could have to scale back my project even further - something huge happened at work yesterday and it looks like I'm going to have to work a few late evenings until things pick up.

I hope none of you guys have any money invested in, erm, anything...

Well I submitted something that looks like a game. You can walk around and kill stuff. It is lacking many things including a plot, multiple characters, or even a goal. But it is what I could stick together in 1 month’s time.

Back from the dead! I have had very little time to do much on the game or the engine, work was killer last month. I'm hoping to spend some time this weekend working on the engine. I have the OK "I think" from my feance, so if all goes well I'll post some new stuff by Monday or so. As far as the game goes dont know what it will be by the time the contest deadline hits, Hopefully more then a walkaround a 3D level demo. I had big hopes for this contest, but damit work just got in the way.

I'm withdrawing from the contest. My game won't be ready on time.
