          | I think "soon" is a given. But when? Let's sort this out - we've only got two days till this weekend! The poll is open for only one day. _________________

          | My vote is for this weekend... I might actually have some free time to put together an entry. :) | |

          | I soooo want to be a part of this; but I'm going to be on the road this weekend; I can't do anything until next weekend.
Does game-content have to be 100% self-made or can the game be made with any resources one can find online?
For instance, if I wanted to rip some existing sprites to use as a base to build my own from (since I can't draw sprites well, but tiles I'm great at) and what about game engines? Is it required to make one during the contest? Or can you use anything that already exists? Could I use a public domain engine to build the game?

          | Well, it appears the votes are in. 5:1 for this weekend, with most people saying that it definitely has to be this weekend. Sorry to the people that can't take part because of this - if this goes well we'll have another one soon :) _________________

Yeah, that's fine - you can even use RPG Maker if you want :)

          | Great, I'm in (though I might not have as much time as I'd like this weekend, I'll still try and get *something* done).
 Who else will be participating?

          | I'm planning to participate. Does the competition have a name? Do we have a theme or topic yet? Did anyone contact Bjørn about setting up the competition? | |

I sent Bjorn an email, but I haven't heard from him in a while, dunno if he'll see it. We don't have a name, theme or topic yet - feel free to suggest some :)

          | How about a free-for-all, any theme goes :-)
And let's throw in that list of things you need to include which you wrote in the other thread:
 - At least one regular battle
 - At least one boss fight
 - An overworld with at least two locations
 - At least one talking NPC
 - Some semblence of a plot

I think it would be interesting to see how different the games will be while still including those (broadly defined but still) components :-)

And as discussed before, allow any dev tool and engines/libraries, and allow teams or solo efforts... It's all for the fun of it anyway, right? :-)

And we could call it... umm, I dunno.... The RPG-inna-weekend compo? :P
