Hi all. I've recently restarted a browser-based MMO project that I sort of abandoned about half a year ago. It's kind of bare bones right now. There's a complete lack of graphics, for example. But I'd appreciate any input you can give on the system thus far. Thanks.

Hey that was fun.

How do you get more turns? I can't do anything else...or am I missing something?

One turn will regenerate every hour automatically. Simply log in at some point in the future, and you will have more turns. This kind of system is implemented by pretty much every browser-based mmo I've ever seen. It's function is to make sure that people with more free time can't (as easily) one-up the people with less.

Glad you had fun! Any other comments or suggestions?

I have a few.
I'm not to happy about the fact that you can click your way from t.ex The Great Plaza to The Northwestern Continent in one click.
You should be able to click back to where you where when you have been looking in your inventory, the questpage or any other page. As it is now you have to click your way back from the nw continent everytime you check something or get a new quest. Not that it is far too anywhere but still.
Weapons and equipment would be nice and I would like to see my hp somewhere close too turns and crid.

Thats most of what I had for now ;).

Character stats in sidebar. Check.
Equipment is next on my list of stuff to do. Going to add another quest first, then check.

Obviously, the "return to" link in the sidebar is not visible enough. It does exactly what you describe -- allows the player to quickly return to the last world area they visited. Any suggestions as to how to make it stand out more? Maybe I should move it??

Oops. I missed it ^^
Perhaps you should move it to where getting started is to make it more visible. And move getting started into the main menu.

Edit: I managed to get a

Yes, I dumped the database a few months ago. There was a notice on the main page for a few weeks after the dump occurred. Of course, that means you can create a new account using the same email address as before. You just have to start over from scratch. But, during alpha, that should be expected.

Nope, no problems. Nope, hadn't noticed the new quest's. I take this as you can now continue travel through the forest?

Nope, I've been adding the "new skills" quests to the beginning of the game. Each class a trainer who unlocks the first two skills for that class. All you need is a character of that class and to find the trainer. Hit up the "Automated Noobie Guide" in the Great Plaza.

Sorry, I know you really want through the forest, right? ;)

Oh, yeah, I know. Those errors just mean I haven't gotten around to creating a script file for her yet.

Here's basically what my development plans look like:

1) item functionality in battle
2) finish off the final three skill quests (the ones for Striker, Machinist and Dynamage are done; Adroit, Techster and Wordsmith have yet to be implemented)
3) skill functionality in battle
4) new quests for ikval forest -- which will involve multiplayer, so I'll have to get that working too
