But before I do that I would like to say a few words. I have allowed a few people to come on LoZ II and look around to see how they like it, they love the mapping but most of them say that there are too many maps. Now I thought about this and thought of why too many maps is bad. Basically, you run onto a map to loot someone; all they have to do is walk off the map and you basically lost them |
Is this a PvP heavy game? If not, then beings that you can hunt are easily programmed so that they do not run off maps. Ragnarok Online does it that way. Monsters never will walk from one map to another.
But for a multiplayer game starting with a big world can have another drawback: The few people who try it initially are lost in the big area and feel alone. Then it's not really different from a single player game to them, and you must fill the land with single player content, to keep them playing until enough are there to create the multiplayer experience of a vivid world. |
Yeah it is a PVP Heavy game, there are tons of quests to do of course; though it is always more fun if you work together with others. That's why I am trying to balance the size of the game so it isn't too big while still being big enough to have lots of places to explore.
Here is this weeks Development Chronicle!
NARRATED VIDEO VERSION
Hello and welcome to the Development Chronicle XXI for Legacy of the Zodiac II. This week I completed mapping the Torrential Plains, and I began mapping the Capital City Taladas.
As I said I completed mapping the Torrential Plains. I had to name them the “Torrential Plains” instead of “The Torrential Plains” because the latter was one letter too long :(. The Plains overall is 70 maps, I woke up bright and early the morning I mapped them (6 A.M. EST) determined to complete them, I had 46 maps left to go and I went straight to work and finished them!
Here is a one screenshot of a map from the Torrential Plains, they are Plains so there aren’t many trees (only one or two every few maps), mostly grass and such; you can’t see it here but from the massive amount of rain they get the middle of the plains is basically a big lake that empties into the ocean.
After that I began to map the Capital City Taladas. This is the LARGEST city in all of Inngard, as well as the largest city in the whole world. It is the home of the Senate as well. It totals at about 70 outside maps (Not counting the insides of houses etc). I started by mapping all three entrances and the main roads coming off of the three entrances which all lead to the center where you will find a 9 maps Courtyard filled with lush grass and trees. Here are a few screenshots of what I mapped so far...
In the above screenshot you can see the main southern entrance to the Capital City Taladas.
In the above screenshot you can see part of the southern Main Road of Taladas, this particular one leads to the Courtyard of Haven as you can tell by the incline at the top of the map.
In the above screenshot you can see one of the maps from the Courtyard of Taladas, the Courtyard is also the grave site for the Senators.
In the above screenshot you can see the middle map of the Courtyard of Taladas, the large statue in the middle leads to The Crypt of the One, where Grand Senators are buried. Yet Grand Senators obtain eternal life, so how could a Grand Senator be buried there? If there is only one Grand Senator, how could there even be more than one if they have eternal life? You'll have to wait to find out.
One other thing I did this week was switch to a different theme on the Blog, it is still made by One Winged Angel Studio, it’s just that it is a different one of their themes. It is called Whitepaper 2.0 Beta; and me and Euth think it is better than his other one; post a comment with your opinion!

That is all for this week, see everyone next week!
Thanks for listening,

NARRATED VIDEO VERSION
Hello and welcome to the Development Chronicle XXII for Legacy of the Zodiac II. This week I continued to work on the Capital City Taladas.
So basically this week I worked on the Capital City Taladas, this is going to take longer than mapping a forest or a plain since each map is not basically the same thing; luckily this is the only City that is this giant (70 Outside Maps).
Here is a simple screenshot of one of the maps near the Southern Wall of the city.
That is just about all I can show you this week, hopefully I will have more to show next week.
That is all for this week, see everyone next week!
Thanks for listening,

NARRATED VIDEO VERSION
Hello and welcome to the Development Chronicle XXIII for Legacy of the Zodiac II. This week the Capital City Taladas was worked on.
The first thing that should be noted is that I wasn't the one that continued to work on the Capital City Taladas. It was Seraph AKA Twilight, he offered to help with some mapping so I accepted his offer and assigned him to mapping the Capital City Taladas. He completed the wall area around the Plaza District as well as the Plaza District itself. The Plaza District is where the some player housing will be located. The maps are pretty nice but I'll let you see for yourself.
I think that he has gotten used to the Xtreme Worlds map editor now and he likes it, so that's good.
That is all for this week, see everyone next week!
Thanks for listening,
