Just because Sephiroth used a naginata doesn't mean she should. It's a three-person sword (i.e. FUCKING BIG) meant to cut off the legs of horses so cavalry would have to fight on the ground.
Rather gruesome actually.

I don't mean to nitpick but...it's naginata, not nagitana. :)

I thought sephiroth used a really really long katana/nodachi?

Lets be real here It isn't like we're not used to rpg characters that use weapons that in the real world would be physically impossible or even practical to use.

on an extra historical note weren't these weapons traditionally used by women anyway?

You're thinking of a zanbatou, I think? A naginata is a polearm, not a sword.

Today's drawing

it looks better large

A quarry entrance with forests and a mountain in the background. The mountain is important to the story but I haven't figured out what to call it yet... oh well it's the least of my worries.

Ahh, right right. Actually I was confusing it with a nodachi, which was used for the same purpose as the naginata, but much heavier and less effective.

I own a naginata too. Surprised I made that mistake.

today's sketch. it was light so I darkened it up a bit

Just drawing random monsters. I might develop a few of these ideas further but nothing much came from today.

I'll probably do another area/landscape for tomorrow

is that a metal door with a padlock and a face?! XD

..the long-necked thing at the bottom right looks a lot like a species from the star wars universe. I can't think of the name of it off the top of my head.

great sketches man. Keep up the great work!

it does look like a random star wars alien.

I mean to put this up yesterday but I was at the movies until late.

it took me a few days to finish this mostly because it was my first time drawing a cave interior. I do not look forward to coloring & shading this.

If you do it in layers it shouldn't be too difficult.
I would suggest laying base colors down and then choosing a light source....wait a sec..what am I doing? YOU are the artist here...XD
Great sketch!

something I worked on during the week

Torwa - City of Darkness

extra details will be put in when I color it

This will be my last image posting for a while, I'm distracted from other issues and I need time to destress. I'm going to take some time to color the stuff I did already. If I come up with something I'll post it.
