Prostitution has been a staple of these games since Princess Maker. It's also unrealistic to leave it out. They should at least have offered a patch.

Played Parhedros. Interesting game, but very difficult to get into. Would be nice to have a strategy guide, particularly for use with the NPCs.

Capitalism ho!
So this is a demo of a game called Recettear, a Japanese indie RPG that is in the process of getting a full translation and should be released soon. It's absolutely ace - I was hooked instantly; I played it for hours earlier and couldn't put it down.
The basic concept is that you run an item shop in a town for adventures. People come along wanting to buy things and you haggle with them. It's better than it might sound.
Here's a write up on Rock Paper Shotgun. _________________ http://www.distractionware.com

Heh - I saw that the other day. It does look like fun. Not sure if it's an RPG, but it looks like something I'd enjoy playing. _________________ Tales of the Rampant Coyote - Old-School Game Developer talks Indie Games, RPGs, and the Games Biz

Hmm, not sure about that; I have a very loose definition of RPG anyway. It's actually kinda like Princess Maker, in a way, if it was focused on just one job.
(I finally got around to playing Beautiful Escape today too - it is really good, but totally fucked up) _________________ http://www.distractionware.com
