I decided to release some of my scene files for PovRay under the GPL:

http://www.funkelwerk.de/forum/index.php?topic=233.0

So far it's a small collection of items that can be found in many RPG, two types of wells, a simple wooden chair, table, cabinet, some coins, and the infamous yet much needed wooden chest:

I thought those might be useful for people trying to get into game development and need examples of how to make simple and basic rpg/game content with PovRay.

Wow! You're getting some good rendering. I really like the wells and the marble column. And your wood texture is really coming out!

Thanks :) PovRay makes some things easy, it has really good procedural texture generators. I'm glad to hear that you like the images!

I've started to release some of my PovRay material definitions under the GPL v2 or newer:

http://www.funkelwerk.de/forum/index.php?topic=238

Most of them are just examples and will need adaption for being used in other projects. But I hope they are still useful for the one or other :)

More to come, as I have time to dig through my old files, clean and brush them up and upload them.

Two of the more interesting materials, added since yesterday.

A sort of rough rock, useful for bare rock walls:

A try to create a leather-like material, with a very worn appearance:

Christmas update :)

A mosaic pattern in stone:

A try to create a very soft, skin-like material:

I called this "fabric" since I couldn't find a beter name. It's an interesting pattern, and I had some success to make use of it for technical components as well, with a more metallic color definition:

The mosaic pattern looks really nice.

Thanks :) It's one of my best patterns so far, indeed.

A little update:

A key for the chest. Well, quite rusty now, but should fit well to an old castle or dungeon.
