Has anyone played this old roguelike? I got Sega Master System Collection for PS3 yesterday (think it's called Sega Genesis in US) and there's like 40 or so old sega games on it. I was playing through old classics like sonic and alex kidd and then I found this one game called Fatal Labyrinth. Never heard of it before but it's quite fun. Very shallow, but still fun.

Strange that I've played a lot of snes/sega games as a child but now is the first time I get to see this roguelike.

Master system was the console that came before the Genesis-- in the UK and Japan the Genesis was known as the Megadrive.

Ahh... discovering those hidden gems you've always overlooked is half the fun of retro gaming :) Quite cool.

Ah sorry about that, I meant Mega Drive yeah :)

Indeed it is, and it's quite charming playing a retro roguelike on a PS3 :)

Especially loved the one of Duke Nukem.

I can't decide which was funnier... the parody report, or the real thing.

There must be a lesson to be draw from that. That was a historic failure.

I can't decide whether the guy has a personality disorder or if he just didn't know when to quit. Maybe he just found what he had perpetually nihilistic?

I never got into that game. I thought it was soulless and vapid, a crude appeal to the "machismo men" who masqueraded as game reviewers for years until the recession fired them, too. In the end I guess its creators were just as vapid as their game.
