Heh - actually, I was wondering about a plug-in / converter to use this to convert items to my format. Right now I have an in-game item editor ... where it will probably remain, since it draws upon a lot of in-game object lists and enumerations, not to mention graphics. But I was thinking, "Hmmm, could I write an exporter from this to my format...?"

Hey man this is pretty slick. I might actually put this to use in the next rpg project I pull from the project archive to work on. :)

Kudos for a cool little utility. :)

Thanks :)

Coyote, DevX, if you really want to use it in your projects, I'm willing to hand over the sources so that you can adapt it to your needs, beyond the plugin interface.

I found an annoying bug - if you had an item edited, and then clicked "New Item", the edits to the former item were lost. This is now fixed.

Also, the dialog boxes for entering new item keys are now always centered on the window, even if you move it around on the desktop.

Would it be possible to store a string value with each item? That way a programer could give each item a tooltip/description.

Revived this project as well, and released as open source:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/itemizer/

Version 0.20 and 0.21 didn't get many new features. I more or less tried to clean up things, make them less annoying, and prepared the plugin concept for future expansions. Finally I want to use this for my own dream projects, too :P

I've put up a new release, v0.22, which sports a new UI:

I hope everything works ...

I like the new interface; it looks much cleaner. The program seems to function well.

Good to know :)

I like the new UI better too, and I wonder a bit why Sun/Oracle didn't advertise the availability more. I just recently heard there is a new look&feel included in recent Java 6 releases and tried it, and I must say I think it's a big improvement to the old "metal" look&and feel.
