Couldn't help but come up with an idea for the story early.

It's the end of the Iraq war, and you're a team of special ops soldiers who get captured by the enemy. However, during the aerial bombardment campaign, the place where you're being held captive gets blasted. You escape, only to realize that the US forces were using experimental bioweapons in their bombardment, which ends up turning everyone affected into mindless zombies.

Worse yet, to get back to base you have to travel down the infamous Highway of Death, where thousands of retreating Iraqi soldiers have been bombed and zombified.
