Man when you are desperate you can't pick and choose your method. You've gotta play like in the Revelation man, where people do the work of the beast but stay true to Christ. You gotta play it by ear: speak the language but don't actually commit to the meaning.
Dude, if it were me I would be trying every trick in the book to get my foot in the door. That doesn't make you any better than me, not by a long shot. There are people depending on you. You don't have a choice.

Man how about this: forget programming; use what you've already got; put your nose to the grindstone to make a kick-ass game, and watch the donations come pouring in. Really now, what's to keep you from pulling off what those people who just made a million buck off that gimmick RC told us about did, but better? I'm not saying to demand their penny, but at least make an appeal for their donation to your livelihood. "Only pay if you want"....
And if you do succeed, I just might emulate you. It might be a good idea to use tools made by others rather than your own, if that will save you time on the actual design of your game. It's just my opinion, but I think you're a better game designer than a programmer.

Already in the process of such a thing Tony.
I've decided to opt for a limited-coding game development system, and churn out a few decent games for some profit.
Currently waiting on assets to be delivered from my excellent in-house artist- its going well, but there are several hundred assets needed for even the most minimal prototype. :D
I'll let you know how it goes. _________________ Principal Software Architect
