Hello everybody.

I doubt anyone remembers much of me. I was a member of this site a few years back, but I didn't post much, and I never made any serious progress on any projects that I undertook. Still, I enjoyed the site, and spent a lot of time marveling at the stuff you guys were able to do. DeveloperX spent a lot of his free time tutoring me, and I'm very grateful for that. If you're still here, man, thanks a lot.

Anyway, since I disappeared last time, lots has happened. I'm now a college student, studying Computer Information Systems with a focus on information security. However, things haven't been going well. As it turns out, I have rather severe ADD, which has been impacting my schoolwork heavily. I've started to turn things around, but I'm under a lot of stress. To relieve that stress, I've started to spend more time playing tabletop RPGs and coding small games.

Then I remembered this place, and figured I'd check in to see how everybody was. I doubt I'll participate in any of the contests, as I'm not a very good programmer in the first place, and I don't have the sticktuitiveness necessary to really complete a full-sized game. But I'll hang around.

Oh, and in case you remember, I was the guy with the Marvin the paranoid android avatar.

I remember you. :P It's been awhile, hehe. :) This place has been pretty quiet lately though...

Yeah, of course we remember you :-) But I didn't realise you had been gone for so long - good to see you back though! :D

And yes, been real quiet lately... who's still around, and what are you up to?

I still lurk here daily. I'm in Boston, working on my Ph.D. in CS. Specifically, I research automated theorem proving and the metaprogramming side of programming languages.

I'm still around a bit... still living in PR for a few more months. I'm currently coding three PCE games: one RPG, one platformer, and one platformer-RPG. The RPG is almost done, though it's been almost done for two years now. :)

Ha! I remember all you guys, too. I recognize Ninkazu on account of the avatar, and Nodtveidt's signature always made me laugh. I remember Mattias as well, but I think you've changed your avatar since I was last around...

EDIT: Also, the new avatar is H. P. Lovecraft. I've discovered him since I was last here, too. Brilliant writer. And a snappy dresser.

Heh - as a fan of Lovecraft's weird and intellectual brand of horror, I approve!

Yeah, Lovecraft is awesome... I'm planning to start a heavily Lovecraft inspired game (though set in Victorian England) later this year :-)

Blasphemy! Only New England is awesome enough to contain Lovecraft's writings!

...I was born in Massachusetts. You can tell, can't you?

Games are an excellent way to relieve stress. Overworking yourself is unnatural; play a game every now and then.

Hey Captain Vimes, nice to meet you! I hope that you can get your school figured out, sometimes things that seem like weaknesses can be turned into strengths when they are overcome (sounds cheesy but it's true...)

Welcome back Captain Vimes.

I'm still around... just very busy at work. I recently finished reading RPG Programming with XNA Game Studio, which was a decent book. It definitely talks more about RPG concepts than actual coding, but I learned a few things.
