Figured I might as well create another little moniker for my chiptune music, now that I'm doing it more regularly-- Bit Rat sounded/looked cool and it's kind of a play on Bit Rate... yeah. :P

The gimmick behind this particular EP is basically that I've written everything with a handful of chip samples and a single channel in Modplug tracker. It's really fun and challenging writing like this since everything has to interrupt everything else to work-- I really recommend it to anyone looking to improve their tracking/chiptune writing skills. The way it works also means that the thing was louder than Death Magnetic the first time I hit normalize. Hahaha.

Oh, and this EP was also created in a single sitting of roughly 12 hours. Gotta stop doin' that...

Tracks list: (Tracks in bold are recommended listening if you don't feel like grabbing the whole thing on a whim)

 1. Quince
 2. D'Anjou
 3. Lemons
 4. Breadfruit
 5. Lucuma
 6. Lychees
 7. Durian
 8. Sea Grape

I don't know why all the songs are named after fruit. It made sense at the time (and still does, honestly).

Yeah, and anyone who has half a brain should know that using spaces in filenames and directory names is damned foolish. :P

Sorry..but it really irks me when I see people using spaces and parentheses and the like in file and directory names...I mean damn to hell the idiot who ever thought that allowing spaces in filenames was a good idea! >_<

numbers, underscores and the good ole 26 letter english alphabet should be all that are ever used. I really hate files that are otherwise named. :P

aside from my rant..when I've got a stable net connection (the current connection keeps on dropping out) I'll have a look at your new venture. Looks to be good :)

          | Haha, sorry. :) They were named that way in the EP folder, I suppose I should've changed them before uploading. They worked fine on the other forums I posted them on so it didn't really cross my mind. Will fix ASAP.

 EDIT: All fixed!

:D downloaded them. listened to a few seconds of each (will hear them fully later..right now I have company that isn't into the chiptune scene...."politely" requested that I "turn that fucking shit off while I'm here" XD ..that was funny as hell)

Sounds great from what I've heard so far!
You are so damn talented man! :)

..oh yeah, and I didn't mean any offense by my "half a brain" comment XD. Its not directed at you personally...just thought I should clear that up.

          | These sound great! Nice that you have the source code to the tracks, not that I would know what to do with them, but interesting to see how they are created. :) | |

          | Thanks guys! :) The .IT files are just ordinary mod files, they'll play in stuff like Modplug and Winamp (though playback can be somewhat weird and crippled in the latter).

          | New track from the upcoming full-length: (copy+paste the URL because it makes my post completely blank when I use URL tags... the title of the song on 8bc determines the URL so it wasn't my intent to put brackets in there, kay? :p works fine on every other forum, too)

No channel limitations this time. Some real instrumentation's gonna show up in the final thing, this is just the chip bed though.

          | Hahaha! Well, while we're being bumped by bots here, may as well plug the fact that I've got a few new releases under this name. This EP's pretty old by now.
 Check it out!
