I always look forward to GameBanshee's "Game of the Year" awards. They focus on PC-based RPG news (though they do post some console-based news).

This year, my new RPG Frayed Knights: The Skull of S'makh-Daon won the "Independent RPG of the Year" award!

It also came in second place for their brand-new category, "Best Character System." Their explanation for the new category was that, "while there were many strengths exhibited by this year's lineup, we felt that character development came to the forefront a bit more than it has in recent years, and that's prompted us to add an entirely new category to recognize the games that haven't overlooked a good progression system in order to cater exclusively to the cinematic-seeking crowd. "

Anyway, you can check out the awards here:

Thanks!

It hasn't resulted in a big sales boost or anything, but it's great to receive the recognition.

I'm still experimenting with some (significant) changes for Frayed Knights 2.

Alas, looks like I was shut out of the IGF finalists. :P

Ah, well. I rather expected that.

Also - if you feel at all inclined, there's a reader's choice vote going on at RPGWatch.com - if you want to vote for your favorite PC RPGs this year (Frayed Knights is in the indie category), here's the site:

RPGWatch RPG of the Year

If you choose to vote, don't vote for the same game for first and second choice, or the vote will be invalidated (instead, vote "none" for your second choice).

Thanks, Jinroh!

I'm still pretty excited about it. Looking back now there are a lot of things I would change (and probably will with the sequel), but it's a really nice feeling.
