It will most definitely not be able to run a PS2 emulator.
Looks like 5 million dollars isn't enough, they are trying to get even more money.
I remain a bit skeptic for a little while longer. _________________

I fully expect the thing to be finished. Of course the question, as with the Pandora, is WHEN it will be finished. If they don't come out with a straight out industrial process, they aren't gonna be able to produce the systems timely. They had better be able to deliver those units within two months at most of the deadline, and that means contracting to have them manufactured, NOT building them by hand as was the case (regrettably) with the Pandora.
On that note, I'm very glad I never actually bought a Pandora. Very disappointed with how it all turned out. Totally failed to meet expectations.

Yeah, no kidding on that one... I had all kinds of high hopes for the Pandora... but it took WAY too long to go to manufacturing, and by the time they were finally shipping, I had lost all interest... and I'm not alone there. Hopefully the Ouya people have taken a lesson from that failure. _________________ If you play a Microsoft CD backwards you can hear demonic voices. I actually think that the Pandora was a decent success... for the people who came up with it. Although they didn't get rich, surely they made a living. It's sold like 10,000 units, I hear, and still selling via upgrades.
It just doesn't seem worth $500. Possibly $300, but definitely not $500.

So... the Ouya actually got released and shipped a while ago, but from the reviews I've seen, it hasn't had the best response. I really like the idea behind it, but I'm not sure how profitable it'll be or if it'll receive a decent amount of games. _________________ Mark Hall

They made a major error in not creating a decent browser for it. Major, major error. They didn't realize they were competing with Microsoft, not Sony and not Nintendo. But they should have, because when you create an android PC, no matter the size, the alternative is always Wintel.
Fact of the matter is 3DS can do more than OUYA. That's sad.

I don't regret getting one at all, and I've had lots of fun playing several games with my family. Brought back memories of how we used to have fun playing SNES games together. Games I liked were Bombsquad, Towerfall and Canabalt HD. It's also a better suited machine for running Xbmc than my Raspberry Pi.
What I don't like is that many of the games, even of those being actively featured, have a rather low quality bar. More often than not, the games have terribly low framerates even when the graphics don't actually suggest they'd have trouble reaching 60 fps. Of course this may be partly OUYA's weak hardware, but I think it's also developers being lazy.
But mostly, I'm annoyed because I do not actually have time to play any games, let alone port my game to it! :-(
Btw tcaudilllg, the thing I missed the least must have been a browser...

Well sure you missed it the least, but that little family down the street which consists of a single mom working two jobs and three kids would welcome that kind of value.
