Just a couple days ago, the RPGDX site stopped showing images and the formatting was all wrong. However, the forum is completely fine... what's going on?

Ouch, it seems I have broken the Classic theme in my latest update (the profile pages). You know, I have been thinking about dropping it because I have to maintain both themes with every update. There's currently only 4 out of 217 members using the Classic theme (Jonge, you, Retro and Zonik). Why are you using the Classic theme? Just tell me if you think it better than the modern one.

Don't worry if you like it better, I've repaired it now.

Same subject, another problem

I'm experiencing lots of MySQL server downtimes lately, and I assume we all are. They are short but frequent, in my experience. The good news is that our move should be very soon now, so let's hope our new server will be better. I will put up a sticky once we've moved together with the IP to use while the DNS servers update.

Ya, I've seen those downtimes as well.

The reason I use the classic theme is because it's very uniform and clean. The new theme has the content purple with a big GREY menu. It's very distracting to me.

Ok, I see what you mean Ninkazu. I've been browsing through some other sites and they all show a higher amount of consistancy, most of them using only three colors (not counting light/dark version of the same color).

Does anybody disagree with Ninkazu here? For example, you happen to like the menu as the grey entity to the left?

In any case, I will try to make the modern theme somewhat more uniform. It will probably come up as "Modern 2" until it is generally accepted as an improvement. :-)

I really like the format of the RPGDX main page. Really, really. Nice, soothing blue except for a touch of burgundy (or whatever) and the inconspicuous logo up there. Too often programming sites of any description are either big, corporate affairs, or ghastly yellow-text-on-black-background-LOOK-AT-ME-LOOK-AT-ME things; RPGDX's format is, however, (I don't know quite how to put it, but) stately, almost, without being soulless.
So anyway, change it, if you like and think you can make it better, but I really like it the way it is, and I don't really think there could be too many schemes I would prefer to this.

I have to agree with Jihgfed on this one.

Great, and thanks. I've tried some other colors though but got nothing of my satisfaction. I'll just try keeping the Classic theme up to date with any code changes as long as possible.
