An RPG without magic spells! :P~
Someone was asking me a lot of questions about RGB so I guess I'll use this little space here to pound out some details for the public.
RGB is set in the modern era (not the future). No one has any magic spells, not even the big bad guys. The main character fights enemies with twin handguns. There are no swords either. The only "magic and swords" can be found in the East (ninjas), which you might not even find when you play it through the first, second, or twentieth time (but there's a hint, it exists ;)). Every event in the game can alter itself or other events, making the storyline effectively write itself as the game goes on. That means that it's unlikely that you'll play the same game twice. Even if you try playing it the same way each time, it will appear as if it has a mind of its own. In essence...the scripting engine works as somewhat of a model of "real life", but this isn't the intention...I just intended on making something somewhat funky :D I just always wanted to do this.
RPG combat in this game is side-by-side FF3-type active-time-battle. It will be somewhat slow-paced at first, but then picks up speed as the game progresses. I'm doing it this way so the difficulty curve doesn't get too sharp too fast.
So umm yeah...if anyone has any other questions about RGB, ask 'em and I'll try to answer. :)

Guns aren't magic, man. There's no such thing as magic. But by taking out swords, you're killing the game. You must slash and cut and filet your enemy, not just pop holes in him. Don't you know the first thing about punishing monsters? About monsters carrying gold, you should just take their heads and sell them to mayors or whatever for "keeping their home safer" or some bullshit like that.

SD-Snatcher was a great RPG and it didn't have swords... the fun thing of fighting was popping holes in most of the bots' limbs. First their transmitters, then perpultion and at last but not least their main parts. And ofcourse their shield if they had one.
Jup, one of the best MSX games ever... just as Kingsvally, Knightmare and Solid Snake. But those aren't RPG, so I won't talk about them because Drakey will lock the thread and all the talk about swords/magic/gun will be gone, and it'll be my fault. :)

vincent from FF7 didin't use swords, he had gnarly guns
i always liked the guns, but when you leveld up strength it seemed strange
at least accuracy seems more logical when using guns (how can someone miss with a sword when the target is 10cm in front of them and not moveing?) _________________ https://numbatlogic.com

If you bought a new gun with SD-Snatcher you would have low experience with it and deal little damage. As you get more used to the gun you deal more and more damage, but ofcourse every gun has it's maximums.
I'm not sure but I think, with SD-Snatcher, accuracy (together with the enemy's speed) defined the chance of wich the enemy evaded your shot.

Now there's a chance to make that darn int stat count for something. An rpg where you have to build your own gun. The higher the int, the better gun you know how to make. Of course you have to find all the ultra-rare supermetal components first to make anything decent. Ph33r my recoil-free magnum with exploding bullets.
Oh, Saga Frontier had guns too. I never did learn any gun techniques for some reason though. _________________ *Only in darkness can one truely shine*
