Lately I've noticed our members only post about 1 news message per month. The rest are RGPDX related updates and events. I am wondering what is causing this.

- Is there really such low activity in the independent RPG realm that there just isn't more to report?
- Is RPGDX just rather inactive and should we do more advertising to try to improve this situation?
- Have people become afraid to post news? Maybe because they think their news is too insignificant?
- Do people prefer posting news in the forums, because that'll allow reactions to be posted? (I'm still planning on adding news reactions, which could solve this problem)

Anyway, just wondering. I would like to try to improve this situation.

You know, I'm not really sure what warrants a news post. "Game Started", sure, and "Game Done", but what else should we post up there?

Maybe that's part of it. How are you going to allow replies without cluttering up the very sleek main page? Does every news post become like a link to its own mini-forum?

Ok, thanks for the feedback. So yeah, maybe there just isn't that much news to be reported. We only have about 25 active members currently (at least, on the forums).

This won't really be a big issue, there are numerous examples on the web showing how this can be done. I've already added it previously for this (dutch) site: http://goudenemmer.cjb.net/ . I'm still undecided about linking it to the forum though.

I don't post news on de front page.
If i ever finish a game i would

"I have pants" is about the only news worthy thing i can come up with

at least be thankful that the news is full of useless tripe (thats the first time ive used that word) beacuse everyone posts about anything and everything

but without some kind of regular posting the site can look kinda dead

- Well, a lot of my development extends far beyond merely working on this game. If you want more news and stuff, I'll post more stuff that will be future-project related, but more conceptual. This will also include stuff like character designs. I would like to get more feedback on those.

Well, you could always post any major changes to your engine, or the direction of the plotline (at least as much as you want to let out to the public). Try not to think about whether it's "news-worthy". Since this is a community of RPG developers, being a developer means that if something is important to you, it's important for RPGDX. Post away, and have no fear! Just don't post anything like "I just bought a new shirt today and it was good" :)

I think most are still here- just lurking. YOu can only talk about the uses of items in an RPG so many times :)

Since I'm currently finishing up Frenetic Plus and still working on Cry Havoc, there's little to discuss regarding FB until I finish the Win32 port.

Otherwise, I'd be showering you guys in new screenshots ^.^
