Hmm... looks like he hasn't posted anywhere on this site for a while... I'm too lazy to look up his most recent post, but I'd guess it'd be around the time of the one up there

Well, you could write a kind of "general-purpose" mapeditor which can be customized by the end user and make it expandable enough that it could be used in other projects, but I suppose that's overkill, and pretty close to impossible considering the huge array of possible implementations of map format. _________________ Don't ask no stupid questions and I won't send you away.

would be overkill, heck right now it's like 200lines of code.. and written in like 2hours just awaiting input on what how he really want it to work...
I think one of the best ways to create a map ed is to hijack the gfx core from the game and use that for rendering and add some extra control functions ontop of it and make it render some extra info (like walkability triggers etc) that way you can be quite sure that WYSIWYG _________________ If there's life after death there is no death, if there's no death we never live. | ENTP

Sorry, been offline....
Email it to me at ccps@SoftHome.net
I really appreciate this.
reasons I've been offline:
1. - forums & IM take up too much time and I'm not getting the code done..
2. - I'm talking with the local designers about the battle system (meetings)
3. - my home new connection has been tied up (fax machine)
4. - life gets in the way alot.....
anyway, I'm not stopping this project.
I _AM_ working on it day and night.
I'll release some more info once I get the battle system designed.
Btw, what do you think about an isometric battle system with particlesystem effects? (first idea)
thanks again.. ttyl _________________ Principal Software Architect
