Maybe that's because the subject is a bit pointless, because there is no such thing as the best language? In my opinion the only point that could reasonably be made was "everyone his own preference". There are so many to choose from, most of them equally adequate.

While you can get things done in any language, I think there are real advantages and disadvantages for choosing one language over another.

The advantages of C++ are that it runs fairly fast, provides direct access to most third-party libraries, and allows one to program at a fairly high level of abtraction without sacrfificing speed. The disadvantage is that it's a hideous abomination. I do most of my programming in C++.

The advantages of Python are that it's a nice clean language with powerful high-level abstraction tools. The disadvantages are that creating a stand-alone executable is non-trivial (py2exe never seems to find all dependencies) and it runs slow as molasses. I use Python for utility scripts and smaller game projects.
