heh, I just watched Baseketball. It's been such a long time I can't believe I forgot about it. Any other semi-classics you guys know of that may have slipped our memories? I'm trying to make a collection of great movies.

I'm sure this hasn't slipped anyone's memories, but Monty Python and the Holy Grail is good... also Airplane. :) _________________ Don't ask no stupid questions and I won't send you away.

Oh, and don't forget the greatest animated movie of all time, Yellow Submarine (you know, that one with the Beatles?) :D Very funny. _________________ Don't ask no stupid questions and I won't send you away.

Some of my favourites:
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
Carnival of Souls
Transformers: More than Meets the Eye (and proud of it)
Midnight on the Galaxy Express (although I only saw it once, and that was very late at night and it may have been the sleep deprivation that made me like it; I've been looking for it unsuccessfully ever since)
Metropolis (both the silent German one or the Japanese one)
The Manchurian Candidate
That Kurosawa movie with the ugly Samurai.
---- EDIT ----
Oops, I forgot Arsenic and Old Lace.

The one with the evil blue creatures? I thought it was kind of boring actually. I love Monty Python though.

The word "nosferatu" just for some reason reminded me of "the island of dr. moreau" or something along those lines. MAN was that a weird movie. At least I get the gag in southpark because of it :P

I also very much liked the recent movie about the (very, very fictionalized) shooting of Nosferatu (the first one). Rather amusing, I thought; the premise is that the actor playing Nosferatu is actually a vampire himself, and the director, knowing this, has to keep him from eating the rest of his crew. I can't remember what it was called but I do remember it starred John Malkovich.
Nephilim wrote: | The Seven Samurai / The Magnificent Seven | Put them together in an attempt to avoid the endless debate over which is better? Well, I'll try not to incite one, but I will say that I could never take Yul Brenner seriously: always expected him to burst out in song or something.
Nephilim wrote: | Strange Brew | An excellent song, too.
Also, I should have mentioned Plan 9 from Outer Space. That's a cool movie.

I think it was called Shadow of the Vampire, and I seem to recall that Willem DeFoe played the vampire.

I liked them both. I don't get the same vibe off of Yul Brenner that you do, but then, I've seen Westworld and The Magnificent Seven far more times than I've seen The King and I. Heh.

Shadow of the vampire. I own it on DVD. Directed by the guy who did the FANTASTIC film the Begotten. Also some more good ones:
EraserHead
Blue Velvet
Mullhollond Drive
Twin Peaks
Pi
Cities of Suicide
