I was just curious, what sort of traffic does RPGDX get? The main page, I mean. And, I know it may be difficult or impossible to answer this next question, but who exactly comes, designers/programmers/artists/etc. exclusively or players as well?
I don't know too much about "netiquette", so I hope this isn't a gauche thing to ask.

I think it's a good question, and I'm curious about it too :) _________________ I think, therefore I am... I think.

I assume you mean for the rest of the site, and not the forums, because that kind of data is pretty easy to glean for the forums using the main forum page. I mean, 280-odd registered users, most users ever online was 12. That pretty much tells ya all ya need to know about that. I've never seen a guest on the forums when I was. They probably happen, but not very freqeuently.
Anyway that doesnt cover the rest of the site though...

Ok, I'll give you a few numbers.
www.rpgdx.net gets 100+ visits a day currently (138 average in May), while forums.rpgdx.net gets about 80 visits a day (78 average in May). Also, 10% of the forum visitors comes through a direct link, 10% from external pages and 80% from www.rpgdx.net.
Bandwidth usage:
www.rpgdx.net: ~500 MB/month
forums.rpgdx.net: ~200 MB/month
As to actually who comes along, apart from people that use the forums to share their thoughts, I have actually no idea. An interesting question that could be asked in a poll I could introduce on the main page with some work.

You could log all the IPs and then match them up with the regulars here and then count up the unknown ones if you have the spare time :P

Assuming that half or so of the people who show up at the main page but don't go on to the forums are players (very wild guess), that makes it about 3/4 developers, 1/4 players.
I don't know that a poll would be worth the effort, because I imagine it would be inevitably skewed towards the programmers/developers. I mean, if you're willing to go to the forum, you'll be willing to take the poll. If you're not going to the forum, you likely won't take the poll. Besides, you might clutter up the main page's sleek design.
Thanks for the numbers. I was just curious.

But you can split up "developer" also in Coder and Artist....so you have to add more options to this planned poll if you want to make it being exact.. _________________ Keep on codin'

Heh, that's why I was referring to a poll on the main page, and that's why I said it would be some work. About the IPs, I don't think that'll be feasible. I am using a different IP every 2 hours I am online, and I think there are more such people (at least, I hope I'm not the only one with this curse, or maybe I don't, or whatever, it's a pain but I've managed for ~6 years now).
