I read the description of the link to RPGDX on rpg-dev, saying it was supposedly the center of indie rpgs, but then I did a google search. http://www.indie-rpgs.com/ is a huge forum about indie-rpg development. HUGE. Now I don't mean to burst your bubble, but that just seems like it's the more popular site.
Funny how this used to be indie-rpg, without the "s" :P
Almost like sister sites separated at birth, lol.

you do know that that site is for TABLETOP RPG's, not video games, right?
also, i grew up with, and still am pretty good friends with, the guy who created this:
http://www.key20.com
who has a board there at this local:
http://www.indie-rpgs.com/viewforum.php?f=6
he created a pretty hueg and immensly popular tabletop horror game called little fears. it's a lot of fun.

Heh, funny you notice that on the rpg-dev site. Every page on rpgdx.net has been telling you the same thing pretty much since Mandrake started this site on indierpg.net (though without the "supposedly"). It has also been called "the indie-rpg nexus" or something like that.
I think it's a pretty big ego to be spreading, but that's why I added the "supposedly", as it's actually just supposed to be the center. :-)
But Mandrake is right, we're only talking focussing on computer RPGs, not the tabletop ones. So shoo, go try Googling a bigger site again. ;-)

the indie-rpg nexus
|
I called it that because nexus is a meeting place between points...things come together at the nexus. It's not a center as in center like center of the world, but center as in in where all things meet. At the time, (before rpg-dev.net), there were no non-programming specific indie rpg pages for video game devr's. All you had were some QB sites, and like 12 startup sites that eventually disapeared due to lack of traffic. I meant by Nexus was that this was the place for indie-rpg dever's to meet....

Well I mean, sure nexus can mean a "connection". But when phrased as THE nexus as opposed to A nexus, it means center. Saying "the connection" implies a centering of that connection even if thats not what was meant.
Still, I understand how someone could mean that, it just doesnt end up sounding that way to the passer by.

And at the tiem it WAS the connection. until other sites came out....
either way, back in the day if you took it literally, it meant the connection (or meeting place) for indie-rpg.net heh.[/quote] _________________ "Well, last time I flicked on a lighter, I'm pretty sure I didn't create a black hole."-
