And this is good because...?
What kinda immature name is Poobum anyway?

If I can come up with a compelling concept before the contest starts, I'll participate. I have some rough ideas right now, but I'm also busy with another project. We'll see how it goes.

Ha ha! Congratulations to everyone who finished the compo in time, and good luck in the voting! At my count, that's: Anera: Poobum 2003 + 1, That's 80's Game, and Sword of Fargoal Remake, based simply on the number of games that have download links. If I'm right and that's it, you're guaranteed a medal. Yay!
I, sadly, finished 2 and a half hours late, so I just want to make sure everybody knows they can't vote for my game, Notmucher, not that anyone would anyway. Heh. But it's done, so you can try it out if you like, though it's buggy as all get out.
Once again, congrats and good luck in the voting. I'm going off to play the games now.

Didn't you just need to debug some problem with your engine? I remember last contest there being some entries go up late that were still considered. And I'm getting a broken link with Poobum's game. Besides, winning a silver or gold by default would kinda anticlimactic...

I was doing a mixture of content and debugging, actually. Heh, you should have seen my scramble to fix my int to string function, it was frenetic, to say the least. But I'd be glad to be considered, though I highly doubt I'd do well, if you're all willing.
Heh, after all, if there were only two contestants, Bjorn might have to rewrite the contest code. Couldn't have that.
I'd be willing to put up with a penalty. Ha, it feels like school again: 10% off for everyday late.
So anyway, I throw myself on the mercy of the courts. It doesn't really matter to me too much whether I'm in or not; I'm glad to have made the attempt and to actually have something to show for it in the end. I learned a lot. Okay, now I'm just sounding lame so I'm going to end this post now.

4 games are available for voting, a few hours late is nothing to worry about. Fixing bugs is tolerated even when voting has already begun, especially if it prevents people from even trying the game out. Our Blues Brother RPG didn't make it to a playable status before the compo deadline and some others gave up during the competition by just removing their entry. I'll enable voting in a minute.

Notmucher doesn't work for me. In fullscreen mode, the screen is black but nothing happens. In windowed mode, the game screen is shown (with character on top half of screen and purple window on bottom half, no text) but the game does not respond to input.

I am also having notmucher problems. When starting up using either mode it quickly flashs a screen and then just immediately exits. I'm running XP, and I can run other allegro games fine.
I really want to play it too- just from looking at the image files I think the graphics look excellent. hehe

Unfortunately, it seems Notmucher is appropriately named. I can't pinpoint the problem exactly, because I really ripped my engine apart trying to get it ready for the compo. I'll try to see what I can do tomorrow. The big difficulty is that I've never experienced some of the problems before (the disappearing text, for example) and can't duplicate them on my computer, so I really have no good idea what could be causing them.
Ah, I'll give it a shot, though. Sorry for all the bother, and thanks for the bug reports.

I'm gonna coin a new acronym just for fun - YANBR (yet another notmucher bug report) Sorry to say that it now GPFs immediately for me, if that helps at all. Hope you get it working. It looked neat. :) _________________ Don't ask no stupid questions and I won't send you away.

I had no serious problems with Notmucher. I think I even made a comment to that extent to Jihgfed. Oops.

I'm also getting a GPF when running the game, but because I was told it ran fine for two other people I included it in the voting news post anyway. If you want me to remove you from the post Jihgfed, I'll do that. But of course, it would be nice if you could fix the bug instead.

Well, it was at least running for me while in development, but the version that's up now immediately GPFs. I'd really like to see a working version, but if you're not interested, that's fine too. :) _________________ Don't ask no stupid questions and I won't send you away.
