Speaking of huge worlds, I was at a LAN on the weekend (I know- how terribly geeky of me). One of the guys there was playing Everquest. You know, i'd heard that the graphics in the game were a major let down- but I wasn't quite prepared for the whole reality of it.

Sure, big wide worlds are a wonderful concept, but if they have the detail I saw in Everquest- I'd rather have my character run around in a highly detailed shoebox.

I don't know what sort of a budget they had for that game. But I don't think anyone should attempt to generate massive worlds unless they've got the manpower to ensure every area of the world actually looks good (and I know- thats a monumentus task). In todays day and age a room should be more than a cube with four (badly aligned) textures slapped on it.

Shrugs, guess I should stop griping- its only 8.50am and I'm already getting cranky *YAWNS*
