As far as I know, rouges/thieves are sneaky and do backstabbing and stuff and they form gangs/clubs/guilds, just like ninja's.
Wheras paladins do everything for honor and work for some important guy or are freelancers (in the games), just like the samurai.
I'm probably wrong and insulting al the samurai/ninja(s) (freaks/wannabes).

Where did you hear that paladins were like that? You obviously have no knowledge on the subject.
(And Samurai also "mindlessly" followed orders. Loyalty to their lord was considered their highest virtue.)
