I bought Iron Maiden's latest album a few days ago and decided to share my thoughts on it, as well as try to get to know what other people think of it.
Firstly, the copy protection sucks. I've experienced it before (Blind Guardian - Live), but this version was worse - it wouldn't even load on my computer. Luckily, this protection is easily defeated with the right CD reader (which I have on another comp). I like having all my CDs as MP3s as well as on the original CD.
As for the music, I think it's good. Really good. Although it's not their best album, it's still in the top five. Especially the tracks Paschendale, Journeyman and Dance of Death appealed to me.
Now what do you think of Dance of Death - or am I the only Iron Maiden fan here? _________________ http://www.weeaboo.se

haven't had the pleasure to listen to that album, well as soon as I get some money it will be a top priority. _________________ If there's life after death there is no death, if there's no death we never live. | ENTP

Although I'm a Maiden fan, they're not my favorite, so I don't really keep up with the albums very quickly.

It's good,
but the cover is just...
Bleh.
It sucks.
BIIIG time.
It would be good without all those cheap 3d poser models chucked all over the place.
I mean, _I_ could sketch a better cover.
Really.
Okay, so maybe not color and CG it, but seriously- That cover is just plain HORRIBLE.
I'm also a maiden fan, but I prefer their old stuff-
Namely, Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner-
That was the best 11 minutes of melodic old-school metal ever.

heh I remember seeing that CD last time I was browsing through the local Tower's metal section. I thought it was pretty lame that they ditched the old goofy illustrations for a 3d modeled cover. Can't comment on the music though. Didn't buy it. I did pick up Children of Bodom's latest album and Dissection's "Live Legacy" however... I actually don't own any Maiden albums now that I think about it...

I saw Iron Maiden live at Waldrock, a festival in The Netherlands... I was kind of disappoited, never really was a fan, but their performance was boring. Espacially after seeing Murderdolls, Madball and Sepultura. :D
