Due to popular demand: I just added in a "hold position" command to combat so you can make a character wait till the end of the round to take his/her turn.

I'm rewriting the enemy AI for the second time since I started development on TSoG. If everything works as intended (and so far, it is) this should cut thousands of lines of code out of the game while improving the cleverness of enemy units. Wish me luck!

For those interested, here is a post detailing with greater specificity what the AI improvements do:

I've updated the in-browser demo. It now features AI improvements, a bunch of bug fixes and features suggested by people who downloaded the first downloadable demo, and all the new art and content that went into the downloadable demo. (The only things it's missing are music and sound effects--you'll need the downloadable demo for that.)

Quick update--I'll be releasing the game for pre-order sometime in the next week.
Quote: | You will get two big things when you pre-order the game:
* unrestricted access to the full game as development proceeds. Want to explore Somnus, delve into the deeper crypts, or find out what happens after the execution? You’ll be able to do all that and more!
* a 20% discount on the price of the game! When you pre-order, the game will cost $19.95 (as opposed to $24.95, the price tag it will carry upon full release). |
There will be an updated demo to accompany the release, with new playable characters and other awesome stuff accessible only to pre-orderers. :)
