Damn dude... you are one prolific dev'r. I can't keep more than two projects active at any one time, lest I go spastic and do evil things.

Vampira:Domination
Ring of Scars
Oblivion
Generation Olympia
Darius' Vengence
and Zero GTZ

so far, i have 2 of 6 engines coded, 3 full storylines/event listings plus 61 maps, heh, and thats in the last 3 weeks

You're working on five RPGs and one other game simultaneously? And they all have different engines? I'm barely able to keep working on one project for more than a week...

Surely there are at least two of the RPGs that are similar enough to use the same engine with modification? Making 5 engines for 5 RPGs sound a bit overkill to me, unless they're all fundamentally different in gameplay and graphics, of course.

heres some shots with some 3d maps

runs ~20-30fps on my p3 550, bout double than the oblivion engine for the same polycount

the engines for vampira and generation olympia [3d] are near complete, for the other 3 rpgs, i'll prolly use a lot of the same engine as vampira, maybe one will get the 3d engine, but i'd like each one to have something special about its gameplay that requires a somewhat unique engine for it

im trying to get the engines and designs completely done within another week before i start doing maps, then do all the maps with concept textures/tiles/sprites within a month, then go back and do the final cuts on all the sprites the last month

Looking good indeed. But, maybe this has been asked a lot (I feel to lazy to check), but did you try learning OpenGL? For one, you won't have to worry about FPS ever again. Second, I will be able to play your games in Linux decently, instead of emulating a QB game (triple slowness). Thirdly, it should be so much easier with automatic Z-buffer, lights, complex transformations in a few simple functions.

Though I'm guessing that you know all that and you just chose to go without for the fun of it...

thanks, the thing about open gl is... ive written a few walk around engines in it, and i just dont really like the way it handles the 3d math, maybe because i've been using my own method for the last 4 years, so thats the way i inherently think in 3d... its cool, its powerfull, but, i dont feel like learning enough of it to do any damage just yet
